The program ‘Animal Production and Health Technology’ is designed to produce technicians who will be able to apply generalized scientific knowledge. This knowledge will be translated into general and specific competencies and skills in animal management (health), increased production and veterinary public health.
What is APHT?
Animal Production and Health Technology is an applied science within the agricultural field which focuses on the different aspects related to animal production and animal health. The aim of this program is to train students in the latest agricultural techniques, within the context of livestock production, health and management. Animal Production and Health Technicians are trained to contribute to an optimum animal productivity, animal health and veterinary public health. The APHT program helps equip students with the tools needed to tackle problems related to sustainable livestock development and management.
The Bachelor program
The program ‘Animal Production and Health Technology’ is abbreviated as APHT. The APHT program has one level: Bachelor of Applied Technology. APHT is one of the two programs that is currently being offered as a full-time study program at PTC. The language of instruction is Dutch. All of the literature that will be used during the various learning activities will however be written in English.
